Battle for Belis Corona
The Battle for Belis Corona began, after Abaddon the Despoiler ordered Commander Uvrik Khravos to invade the world, immediately after Cadia's destruction.[1]
History
In doing so, the Despoiler hoped to cripple the Imperium's Battlefleets and lay claim to a major supply centre as well. With the order given, the Black Legion, and their Dark Mechanicum allies, engulfed Belis Corona's orbital dockyards and then gained entrance to the enormous magvaults beneath the world's surface. The Imperial forces protecting Belis Corona fought fiercely to defend it, though, and the Black Legion began suffering more losses than Khravos had expected. The Commander dreaded what Abaddon's response would be if he failed and so asked his Dark Mechanicum allies for aid. In response, they unleashed a corrupting Scrap Code into the datacurrents of the magvaults and caused the vaults' now bloodthirsty Servitors and defence turrets to attack Belis Corona's Imperial defenders. Even with this setback, the tenacious Imperial forces continued to fight against the invaders and the on-going Battle for Belis Corona has now lasted for several years.[1]
