History
The first T'au to be fitted with a Puretide Neurochip, Sha'vastos faced lobotomy when the Ethereal Council ordered the removal of all Puretide Neurochips after they had been found wanting. Sha'vastos was saved this fate by the intervention of Commander Farsight.[2] By the Arkunasha War the elderly Fire Warrior was one of the finest T'au soldiers Farsight knew, and joined his growing corps of officers.[2] His prototype neurochip suffered rapid degeneration after the battle, however, so Farsight had him spirited away in a stasis pod until he could find a cure. Many decades later, O'Vesa was able to recalibrate the neurochip and reawaken the old warrior.[1] Despite Shavatos's returning function, at times, especially while under stress, the Puretide engram would reassert control. In these moments, Farsight could converse with his old master[2], or even allow Puretide to bring his considerable command skills to bear.[3b] On occasions Sha'vastos could stop the engram from taking control, though it required immense effort.[3a]
Wargear
Sha'vastos goes into battle in a modified XV8 Crisis Battlesuit equipped with a Plasma Rifle, Tau Flamer, Shield Generator, two Gun Drones, and vectored retro-thursters. The suit is directed by his Puretide Engram chip.[1]
