Retius Daceus

Retius Daceus[2] is a Veteran Sergeant of the Ultramarines 2nd Company, the right-hand man of Captain Cato Sicarius, and the leader of his Command Squad, the "Lions of Macragge."[1]

Biography
Several weeks after the Damnos Incident Daceus was back on Macragge. After Sicarius had woken from his revivification casket he had Daceus join him, Agemman and Vantor on their way to the armorium. There Dacues helped them shoot at the remains of Necrons from Damnos they had brought back that were self repairing. He then looked over the remains to make sure they were dead with Sicarius.[4]
At some point after the Damnos Incident Daceus participated in the defense of a world against the Tyranids. He advised Sicarius against his plan to take a Vanguard Veteran squad to the planet via drop pod, and assassinate the nodal creature, though Sicarius ignored his advice. Later Daceus went out in a Storm Raven looking for him, when he found the crashed Drop Pod he thought Sicarius might be dead, though he found him shortly after.[5]

Notes
- In How to Paint Space Marines, there is a Space Marine called Daceus depicted as a member of Squad Romulus, a Tactical Squad of the 2nd Company.[3] Whether this is the same character before he was promoted or an unrelated Daceus is unknown.
