The Waning - Time of Ending - Age of the Dark Imperium |
The Age of the Dark Imperium, also known as the Era Indomitus[4], is the current period of Imperial history, beginning after the destruction of Cadia in the Thirteenth Black Crusade and the formation of the Great Rift.[1]
During this period the Imperium is effectively divided in two by the Great Rift, but has nonetheless endured thanks to the efforts of the revived Primarch Roboute Guilliman.[3]

Trivia
- Ostensibly, the term Era Indomitus refers to the Indomitus Crusade and either begins with, or occurs after, the 13th Black Crusade. As the 13th Black Crusade and its surrounding events are definitively stated as 999.M41[6][7], it would logically follow that that the years of the Era Indomitus following the 13th Black Crusade would, according to the Imperial Calendar, be the millennium M42. Indeed, certain events of the 13th Black Crusade are thought of in-universe by various historians as M42.[5] However, Games Workshop has established the notion of doubt as to the accuracy of whether or not it truly is the 42nd millennium.
