Gorgo Tsouras

Biography

When a strike force of the Soul Drinkers Chapter led by Librarian Sarpedon went renegade, firing on an Imperial battlefleet in the Lakonia System before making their escape aboard two Strike Cruisers, the remaining functional ships of the fleet followed them, eventually cornering them in an asteroid field in a barren system. Although the Imperial fleet received reinforcements (with the operation to contain and capture the renegades now designated the Lakonia Persecution), they were unwilling to follow the Space Marines into the field due to the danger posed by the tumbling debris; thus a stalemate emerged that lasted for months. Eventually, the Inquisition, impatient and unsatisfied by the fleet's lack of progress, assumed control of the Persecution, with Inquisitor Tsouras arriving to oversee the operation personally.[1a]

Tsouras sent one of his acolytes, the Interrogator K'Shuk, into the field to meet with Sarpedon. K'Shuk delivered his master's ultimatum to the Soul Drinkers - stand down and surrender themselves to the Inquisiton, or the entire Chapter would be declared Excommunicate Traitoris and exterminated. Sarpedon resisted, rejecting Tsouras's authority, and so the Soul Drinkers were condemned.[1b]

Despite the danger posed by the asteroids, the Inquisitor ordered the battlefleet into the field to crush the Marines. Before Tsouras could eliminate them, however, the remainder of the Soul Drinkers translated in-system and extracted the renegade Marines before fleeing themselves.[1b]

Following the failure of the Lakonia Persecution, Tsouras led a purge of the surviving Imperial personnel.[2]
