Hecaton Aiakos

Aiakos, the Guardian of the Daedelos Krata and the Terror of Bifrost, is a Contemptor Pattern Dreadnought Hecaton of the Minotaurs who has been in service with the Chapter for several centuries.[1]

Biography

Aiakos has served at the forefront of a dozen major campaigns, including leading the boarding assault against the Lamenters Strike Cruiser Mater Suspiria during the Battle of Optera and the defence of the Black Gates of Hive Vitria against the Genestealer Cult of the Dreaming Deeps.[1]

Most infamously, Aiakos rampaged through allied lines during the Bifrost Uprising after he was mistakenly fired upon by a detachment of Bifrost Huscarls under the command of Brother-Sergeant Augustine of the Viper Legion Chapter. Enraged, Aiakos killed thirty-seven Huscarls and Augustine himself, ripping apart a Leman Russ Battle Tank that tried to stop him. His assault was only halted after he received an emergency countermand signal from the Minotaurs Chapter Master in orbit.[1]

During the Orphean War, Aiakos was armed with a Dreadnought Power Fist and a Plasma Cannon. The shield generator mounted on his shoulder augments the Dreadnought's Atomantic Shielding.[1]

Trivia

  • Aeacus is the son of Europa by Zeus (who abducted her in the form of a sacred bull) in Greek mythology, making him the half-brother of King Minos of Crete.
