Moriana Mouhausen
Moriana Mouhausen was a member of the Chosen of Malcador during the final stages of the Siege of Terra in the Horus Heresy.[1]
History
Moriana was one of the youngest Chosen, selected by Malcador just before the Siege of Terra. She did not walk in the triumphs of the Great Crusade, and had become the most used to defeat and catastrophe.[2c]
Moriana worked alongside Xanthus in facilitating the Terminus Project. Taking shelter in the throneroom of the Sanctum Imperialis alongside Vulkan and other key loyalists, she survived the Siege of Terra.[1] However the experience left her morose and sickly, and she struggled with exhaustion and her health.[2a] Due to the radioactive pollution across Terra in the aftermath of the Siege, she began to lose her eyesight.[2c] Nonetheless, she continued her duties and supported the leader of the Chosen, Khalid Hassan, in attempting to empower the High Lords of Terra and to gain a seat on the Grand Council of Reconstruction.[2b]
As Hassan took control of her order, Moriana became engrossed in the sealed archives of the Fortress of the Sigillite and became obsessed with learning truths to restore the Imperium via forbidden texts.[2c] She later learned that the Emperor was dying upon the Golden Throne and required a tithe of Psykers to survive, and informed Hassan of this.[2d]
Moriana has subsequently become entangled in the myth of Moriana, Abaddon's Seer. Her exact connection to the Witch Moriana remains unknown.
