Mutie Raiders are one of Gorkamorka's desert species.[1a]

History

A Mutie Raider Unk[1d]

Muties are descendants of a once space-faring civilisation, who crashed on Gorkamorka at the same time as the Orks.[1a]

Originally of a fair appearance, their bodies mutated and warped into hideous creatures because of the radiation and toxins of Gorkamorka's atmosphere. Some had distorted skeletons, extra limbs and eyes, while others found their muscle structure mutating or their skin forming a hard stone-like layer.[1a]

Those hardships turned them bitter and angry toward the Orks, whom they deemed responsible for the crashing of their space-ship.[1a]

Society

The wreck of their spaceship constitutes their base of operations; it is named Etervigila.[1b]

The rulers of Etervigilia are known as the Cognoscenti. They maintain Etervigila's database and assimilate all information brought to their knowledge. They are seconded by Seekers who are charged with continuing the quests, scouring the desert in search of other Muties who were separated from the main colony during the crash.[1b]

Muties originally roamed the desert in a search for knowledge, which led them into conflict with the Orks while attempting to salvage scrap and arcane technology.[1b]

Religion

The Muties' deity is known to them as Magod, a mighty being who ruled the stars. According to their religion, Orks have despoiled Magod's domain and must be punished. A legend known as the Astrath Prophecy tells of a messiah, the one with the "Enlightened Mind of Magod's chosen". This individual will be able to ask Magod for help through the ship's communication system in order to fight against the Orks.[1b]

Mutie Beasts

Muties prefer to ride beasts they have tamed into the desert instead of constructing vehicles, although they possess the technology to do so.[1c]

Mutie Technology

Mutie technology is far more advanced than the Orks.[1c]

Raiding Parties Ranks

  • The Seeker - the leader of a Mutie raiding party[1c]
  • The Keeper - he evaluates the debris found by the raiding party and repairs their weapons.[1c]
  • Unks and Snagas[1c]
    • Unks are muties whose deformities have made them bulkier and slower.[1c]
    • Snagas are more human in appearance, faster and deadlier than Unks.[1c]
