How come he didn't know that his arm is like that of the primarch of the iron hands.

Well, it might be because the primarchs have been lost/dead more than 10,000 years by now. And I suppose that everything about the loyal primarchs has been rationalized and later proclaimed holy and very righteous. Pasanius knows that his arm has been influenced by an alien entity. but in wasn't the night bringer that cause this it was the metal they used to reconstruct his arm

I'd imagine that over time the exact nature of his hand would have been lost/altered/forgotten etc. and as such may not have been the first thing to jump into his mind. The metal itself was still alien in nature as the Imperium has nothing of the sort really (although some form of advanced polymorphene... yer maybe not). But do you think if he would have showed his arm to the tech marines what do you think would have happen to him and for that matter what do you think if the iron hands found out about this and the world were he got his arm from.

Could be anything from killing him as tainted by aliens and bombarding the planet into submission to turning him into a cult leader and prophesising the ressurection of the primarch and moving the fortress monestary to the planet.
