Voyage of the Nemesis

The Voyage of the Nemesis is a series of battles fought by the Adeptus Custodes Shield Company of Shield-Captain Dmytrosian and the Sisters of Silence's Mercurian Vigil, led by Knight-Centura Threnica Eskh, as they travel aboard the warship Nemesis.[1]

History

Their journey began days after the Noctis Aeterna had lifted, when the two forces were charged with reaching the distant Gulfs of Edhali aboard the Nemesis. Once there, they were charged with finding and killing a witch-lord, who the Oracle of High Asiatica had prophesied would rise to become a threat to the Emperor. The Shield Company and the Mercurian Vigil's journey has been fraught with danger, however, and they have had to fight several battles, as they race towards their target.[1]

This began even before they left the Sol System, when pirates boarded the Nemesis, above Terra's moon, Luna. The pirates, however, found only death at the hands of Armatan and his fellow Allarus Custodians after doing so. The Nemesis then journeyed to Vigilum Station, a deep-void watchtower, but found no one to greet them. The reason for this silence was discovered when the Shield Company and Sisters of Silence were attacked by unclean malevolent entities. In the battle that followed, the Custodians Khiviqaria, Ruvasta Paledes, and Leihng would earn themselves new names for the deeds they committed there. And though Stateriel met her end at Vigilum Station, she was able to kill the Beast of the Hollow Places before dying beneath a tide of foes.[1]

Once they left, the Nemesis entered the Warp and then arrived at Ustakar, where its forces defeated the Tormentor of Multitudes. Then Dhol'chkae, where they journeyed beneath its surface and reclaimed the Onyx Key for Humanity. The Battle of Topaz Heights followed afterwards, where the Knight-Centura Threnica Eskh slew the dreaded Mind-Thief. The Nemesis is still journeying to the Gulfs of Edhali, where they will meet their destiny and a final triumph.[1]
