The War of the False Prophets began in M42, when the Word Bearers caused the Cult of Impurity to take root in the Macharius Pilgrimage Route.[1]
History
The Cult's members thrived in secrecy, and were led from afar by portents sent by the Word Bearers' Dark Apostles. This allowed the Cult of Impurity to spread across Segmentum Pacificus before finally rising up against the Imperium. Multiple Space Marine Chapters sent their forces to put an end to the Cult and they clashed against billions of the lost and the damned. The Angels Arisen, Blood Vipers, Iron Butchers, Scions of Mathellax, Silent Vigil and the Twilight Magisters are among the Chapters that took part in the conflict.[1]
