Wards are creations of the Dark Age of Technology. They are techno-arcane devices that project a subtle energy field that influences warp emanations.[1]
There are two types of wards: hexagrammic and pentagrammic. Both types of ward are used heavily on Black Ships.[1]
Similar in purpose, the Aeldari make use of ancient Runes of Warding; these provide comparable protection against malign energies.[2]
