==Description==
Rediscovered by [[Magos|Magos Technis]] [[Voltar]], the Open-core Plasma Ioniser has ever since its reintroduction been the most effective power generator in terms of pure energy output available to the Imperium. It uses an omophagic system to vent [[plasma]]  through an electromagnetic shielded sub-chamber where the ionised particle matter is re-refined and returned to the main core. The Plasma Ioniser's time-honoured coolant-infusion systems can be sustained for up to 1.9x10<sup>56</sup> hours before core-compression factors exceed tolerable levels. Due to isolation needs caused by exothermic residues, which equate to one part in five thousands, the span ratio must be stabilised at roughly 1/126.
