Open-core Plasma Ioniser
The 90/110 Petawatt Open-core Plasma Ioniser is a type of plasma generator used by the Imperium.[1]
Description
Rediscovered by Magos Technis Voltar, the Open-core Plasma Ioniser has ever since its reintroduction been the most effective power generator in terms of pure energy output available to the Imperium. It uses an omophagic system to vent plasma through an electromagnetic shielded sub-chamber where the ionised particle matter is re-refined and returned to the main core. The Plasma Ioniser's time-honoured coolant-infusion systems can be sustained for up to 1.9x1056 hours before core-compression factors exceed tolerable levels. Due to isolation needs caused by exothermic residues, which equate to one part in five thousands, the span ratio must be stabilised at roughly 1/126. The maintenance per cycle for the Plasma Ioniser amounts to roughly 15,000 man-seconds.[1]
