Roma was the first battle honor won by the Imperial Fists when they were the Emperor's VII Legiones Astartes. The original battle honor, likely a banner, has long since decayed and all that remains is a ceramite icon which is considered too precious to be displayed even in the Inner Reclusiam aboard the Phalanx. At least one of the Imperial Fists' Chapter Banners references the honor and prominently displays the name "Roma."[1]

It is not known for what heroic deed the Imperial Fists were awarded Roma. However, it is stated that the honor evidences the Legion's formation on Terra, implying the action took place on Earth, possibly even at Rome given the name of the honor.[2]
