The Infidus Imperator (High Gothic for "False Emperor") was the Battle Barge of Kor Phaeron, First Captain of the Word Bearers Traitor Legion. Originally dubbed the Raptorous Rex, it was re-named prior to the Battle of Calth.[1a]
Following Phaeron's retreat, the Infidus Imperator fled Calth with the Ultramarines flagship Macragge's Honour in pursuit, leading to one of the most famous naval duels in Imperial history.[1b] After a protracted battle, the Ultramarines succeeded in destroying the traitor ship.[3]
Canon Conflict
The novel Dark Creed states that the Infidus Imperator is still in service to the Word Bearers as of M41.[2]
