First Captain

First Captain is an honorific title born by a few exceptional individuals, second to their Primarch, during the Horus Heresy.[1a]

Today, the title is used to designate the Captain of the 1st Company in any given Chapter.[5] Many modern First Captains also have the title of Master of the Keep.[24]
