Valian Carsomir was a member of the Legio Invigilata, who served as Moderati Primus of Stormherald during the Third War for Armageddon.[1a]
Carsomir was the liaison between a battle group of Invigilata and the Imperial defenders of Hive Helsreach, conveying the wishes of Princeps Majoris Zarha Mancion.[1a] Once the orks started besieging Helsreach in earnest, he took his station aboard Stormherald[1b] - as Moderati Primus, Carsomir controlled the Titan's void shields along with its arm-mounted plasma annihilator.[1c]
Towards the end of the siege of Helsreach, Invigilata's battle group engaged in a heated battle against ork scrap-titans in the Rostorik Ironworks. Stormherald's final battle was against the massive Godbreaker. During the battle, Carsomir took a risky shot by attempting to destroy Godbreaker with Stormherald's plasma annihilator, despite the gun's stabilisers having been damaged in the battle. Not only did the shot miss Godbreaker, but the energy expended drained Stormherald's last reserves, leaving it easy prey for the ork machine to engage in close combat.[1c]
As Godbreaker and Stormherald were locked together, the orks boarded the Imperial Titan. Before they could breach the bridge, however, Carsomir had already been shot through the head by Lonn, Moderati Secundus of Stormherald, for condemning the Titan to an ignominious death. His last words were him repeating "I had the shot..." repeatedly.[1c]
