Notes

  • Note 1: "unmarked": The Ultramarines who served in the Battle of Calth received, both physically as well as psychologically, the Mark of Calth. They were changed, and from then, differed from their brothers who had not been present. The latter were thus called the "unmarked", and were never again able to fully fit in with the rest of the Legion that had endured the horrors of Calth. Even Roboute Guilliman appeared uncomfortable in their presence, as they reminded him of what his legion had lost at Calth. In the Great Scouring, the "unmarked" chapters were increasingly deployed away from the remaining legion, and they were among the first to be split off and organized into independent Space Marine Chapters during the Second Founding.[1g]
  • Note 2: "Evocatii": indicates that the Chapter had a large proportion of raw recruits, supported by a core of veterans. Used by Roboute Guilliman as training units for Neophytes.[1j]
