Space Marine with Disintegration Combi-Gun

Disintegration Weapons can reduce a target to atoms in the blink of an eye. Those of human origin are relics of the Dark Age of Technology. Highly dangerous, few remain in Imperial use and the ones that do are revered beyond measure.[1] These brutal weapons disrupt the molecular bonding of the target, literally tearing it apart whether it be flesh or ceramite. Common during the dark years of Old Night, these weapons were valued as much for the psychological impact of their use as for the efficacy of their actinic bolts.[2]

Trivia

While the exact mechanism of disintegration weapons or Eradication Beamers are not explained, there is strong evidence that eradication beamers are a form of disintegration weapon. Both weapons are described as being "beams of energy", "severing the (internal/molecular) bonds of matter", and reducing a target to "atoms". Thus is it is very likely Eradication Beamers are a form of disintegration weapon, if in function at the least.[1][3][4]
