Tigrus is a Forge World of the Imperium, that was formerly[9] conquered by the orks.[1]

Overview

Prior to the ork invasion, Tigrus was known as the site of the original development of the Vanquisher cannon[1] and Fellblade Accelerator Cannon.[3] Additionally, it was the only production site of Hunter Shells for the Leman Russ Battle Cannon.[2]

Tigrus also produced Boltguns[4] and Bolt Pistols.[5]

Presently Tigrus is considered to be a close ally of Ultramar.[12]

The inhabitants of Tigrus wear orange and dark steel hued robes.[12]

History

Situated between Ultramar and the Eastern Fringe, Tigrus had a reputation of being a stout supporter of the Great Crusade.[6]

During the Shadow Crusade the Word Bearers and World Eaters sought to isolate and destroy Tigrus before it could move its support to the Ultramarines, but due to the Battle of Calth only a small traitor force managed to arrive. The ruling Magi of Tigrus were able to scatter the traitor host and then subsequently launched a counteroffensive into the greater Eastern Fringe.[6]

Tigrus was overrun by the orks of the Warlord Arrgard the Defiler in M35. Even into late M41, it was still in Ork hands.[1][Conflicting sources]

It is recorded that in M39.365, an Explorator Fleet originating from Tigrus and operating under Martian licence discovered the Artificial World of Pontus Avernes. Exploitation rights for the site were disputed and ultimately awarded to Mars following arbitration by the Synod of Mars.[10a][Conflicting sources]

By the year 747.M41, Forge World Tigrus is noted for its involvement in the War of Neotech, during which Adeptus Mechanicus forces conducted a campaign against the T'au Sept of Vesh'yo. Three Skitarii Legions were deployed against the T'au defenders, with substantial reinforcements committed before victory was secured. As a result of the conflict, six star freighters laden with captured T'au war materiel and technology were transported to Tigrus.[9] By M42 Tigrus was considered to be of a higher grade in eyes of Mars when compared to other Forge Worlds, such as Accatran.[10c] In the early days of the Indomitus Crusade, the world was attacked by the Necron Sautekh Dynasty.[11]

The Forge-World would attend the Conclave Chronalis hosted by Belisarius Cawl, and would agree to join his effort to close the Great Rift.[10c]
