Late M34[5]	Obscuran Uprisings. The Sons of Vengeance crush the Free Council of Hannedra II and then turn renegade.[5]
Late M34[6]	Ecclesiarchy power wanes.[6]
Late M34[7]	The Pale Wasting. Eleven Space Marine Chapters are lost to an unknown enemy originating from the Ghoul Stars.[7]

101.M34[8]	Dark Angels Supreme Grand Master Armaros contracts Bloodpox while leading the fight against the Death Guard and the Brotherhood of Plague. He immediately passes the Lion Helm to his successor and steps into The Rock's main reactor, killing himself before he can spread the disease.[8]
118.M34[9]	In the Hour of Shadow, Chapter Master Khardin Gol of the Black Wings and numerous Imperial lords are assassinated, plunging Lorin Alpha into civil war. The Black Wings pursue the Tenebrae Chaos renegades into the Veiled Region.[9]

200-299.M34

216.M34[10]	While enforcing the quarantine zone around the Pale Wasting, Raukaan Clan ruthlessly exterminates fleeing xenos, as well as the entire Yormethi 26th regiment.[10]
230.M34[11]	The Trachesai Massacre. Blood Angels Devastator Squads are noted to rush the enemy to engage in close combat.[11]

400-499.M34

401.M34[12]	The Howling: A strikeforce of Black Templar Space Marines kill the Cacodominus, a powerful alien psyker; the resultant psychic death-scream burns out the minds of a billion astropaths and disrupts the Astronomican. Millions of ships are lost and entire sub-sectors lose contact with the wider Imperium.[12]
438.M34[9]	A single strike cruiser bearing Black Wings livery returns from the outer void. The handful of survivors refuse to speak of what they had endured to anyone save agents of the Ordo Malleus. As they rebuild from their stocks of gene-seed, the Black Wings declare an eternal oath of vendetta against Tenebrae.[9]
456.M34[8]	Inquisitor Halleck captures the notorious heretic known as the Angel of Truth. He claims to have broken the Angel but disappears en route back to Terra. The Dark Angels strike cruiser Black Sword of Vengeance investigates and finds no trace of the Inquisitor, his vessel, or his prisoner.[8]
490.M34[9]	The Rampagers' 6th Company topples the rebel theocracy of Dabenlar III in a single night before brutally purging the population of heresy and asserting recruitment rights over them. See also - The Dabenlar III Campaign[9]
498-601.M34[13a]	Following the campaigns that are later called the Berillia Massacres, the Shining Blades' methods are called into question. They attack their allies and the Red Scorpions are sent to bring them to justice. The Shining Blades reveal their true allegiance to Slaanesh in the ensuing war and declare themselves the Flawless Host.[13a]

500-599.M34

ca. 500.M34[14][15]	The Eighth Founding. Space Marine Chapters created in this Founding include the Mantis Warriors and the Angels Revenant.[14][15]

600-699.M34

600-730.M34[13b]	The Iron Warriors on Medrengard come to civil war, shattering into numerous warbands. As abruptly as the fighting began, it stops. Some attribute the violence to the plans of their daemon Primarch Perturabo, in order to cull the weakness from his legion.[13b]
647.M34[16]	The Documentarian Lasko Pyre, the only known slave to have escaped the Dark Eldar city of Commorragh, commits suicide.[16]
666.M34[17]	The first sighting of a Warp Star after a fierce storm bursts out from the Eye of Terror.[17]

700-799.M34

764.M34[18]	The Shattering. Craftworld Lugganath comes under vicious attack from a psychically-shielded fleet of the Emperor's Children.[18] After thousands of Eldar die, Hemlock Wraithfighters route the Chaos Space Marines who are harried by Harlequins and Ghost Warriors every step of the way.[20]
777.M34[21]	The alliance between craftworlds Iyanden and Biel-Tan begins to fade after the events of Rasilena. Biel-Tan began a bloody war to reclaim the maiden world from encroaching humans. Iyanden judged reclamation held no benefit to the ongoing war against Chaos and refused to send aid. Biel-Tan emerged victorious, if bloodied, against two entire sector fleets and ten Space Marine Chapters. Thereafter, the two craftworlds' unity of purpose was lost and assumed each other uncommitted to their alliance.[21]

800-899.M34

Year	Event
843.M34[19]	The Imperial frigate Hand of Mercy responds to a faint distress call originating from Grendel's World. There they find the entire planet dead, the work of the Night Lords. Observations of the genocide lead to an understanding of how the Night Lords operate.[19]
