The Doomfire Bomber is a class of bomber used by Chaos Fleets[1] and the Imperial Navy.[2]
Description
In truth, the Doomfire used by Chaos Fleets is an Imperial designation for a multitude of similarly designed bomber craft. The Iniquity Pattern Doomfire Bomber tend to be faster than their Imperial foes and pack a deadly payload of Melta Missiles as opposed to the Starhawk's Plasma Bombs. This gives them greater targeting ability, but more Doomfires must combine their fire to match the sheer damage that can be dealt by a Starhawk bombing run. Additional weaponry consists of 3 Autocannons and 1 Lascannon. Some Doomfires are said to be retrofitted to carrying up to 25 troops or supplies for planetary assaults.[3]
During the Gothic War, they undertook many operations including the destruction of the Battlecruiser Cypra Probatii in the Battle of Gethsemane.[1]
