Penitent Engines are used by the Ecclesiarchy as a form of punishment for repenting heretics. They are used by the Adepta Sororitas like Space Marines use Dreadnoughts. Similar to Dreadnoughts, the pilot is hard-wired into the frame of the Penitent Engine. They will charge into combat in a frenzied state, made to recognise that only in death can he or she find forgiveness for his or her crimes.1

Armament
The Penitent Engine is armed with twin Heavy Flamers and Chainfists, one of each on both arms.
Gameplay
In Dawn of War: Soulstorm, the Penitent Engine is highly effective against Infantry units, owing to its ability to devastate enemies' morale and then mow them down in melee combat. This, coupled with its incredible speed (which is second to only the Imperial Guard Sentinel) helps make the Penitent Engine one of the best walker units in the game.2
