A Commune, also called a Battle or Kavaal in Tau is a grouping of Contingents. It is the largest organisational unit the Tau have thus far deployed and are becoming a more common sight since they were first deployed in the Great War of Confederation. The comprising Contingents are often gathered from multiple different Septs. All Tau of a single Caste in a location (such as a planet) fall into a Command.[1]
