Hoping [[STC]]s could be recovered, the [[Mechanicus]] launched an expedition{{Fn|1}} in which twelve [[Knightly House]]s were involved,{{Fn|2}} including [[House Taranis]].{{Fn|3}} Their efforts to do so, escalated into a war against{{Fn|1}} [[Xenos]] warlords,{{Fn|3}} that lasted over a century. Aided by the weaponry they recovered there, the Mechanicus' forces managed to free [[Human]] colonists in the [[Mortuam Chain System]] from [[Xenos]] occupation. Also several first generation STC copies were found and returned to [[Mars]] for evaluation.{{Fn|1}}
