95th Ventrillian Nobles

The 95th Ventrillian Nobles, known as the Jagers, are a Ventrillian Nobles Regiment.^[1a]

History

The 95th and the 24th Ventrillian Nobles are among the Imperium's forces, that are defending Montar VII from an Ork invasion. However during the course of the battle there, an attack^[1a] by the Goffs Warboss Skogrin^[1b] separated the 24th and the 95's Vanguard forces from the Imperium's main military formation. Skogrin's horde then pursued the Regiment and the 24th's Company Commander, Stromfjord, led them and the 95's Vanguard to seek refuge at the Grox farm of the Imperial citizen Ortan Glazer.^[1a] Skogrin's horde attacked it soon afterwards,^[1b] but the Ventrillians were able to kill so many of the Orks, that the Warboss retreated from the farm.^[1c]

Trivia

• The 95th Ventrillian Nobles and 24th Ventrillian Nobles were created by the Games Workshop employee Chris Peach. They were featured in White Dwarf June 2018.^[1b]
• Due to their regimental number, their commander being named Scharper, the green jackets they wear, and the term jager being used to describe them, it is possible the 95th Ventrillian are based on the 95th Rifle Regiment of Sharpe fame, with Major Scharper being based on Richard Sharpe himself.
