Eris is a dwarf planet within the Sol System's Kuiper asteroid belt.^[1]

In the real-world, Eris is the largest and most massive known member of the Kuiper belt. Pluto and Makemake are close in size, all being counted amongst the largest known Trans-Neptunian objects (TNO) among the scattered disc.
