• In the real-world, the Kuiper belt marks one of the end boundaries of the solar system, that being the edge of the Heliopause. Pluto, Makemake, and Eris are dwarf planets and some of the largest Trans-Neptunian objects (TNO) currently known to exist in the scattered disc that is the Kuiper Belt.
• The Kuiper belt is distinct from the Oort cloud, which is theorized to encompass the entire solar system in a sphere many thousands of times further away than the Kuiper Belt is from Earth.
