Hololithic Projectors,[1] or just Holo-Projectors,[2] are Imperial devices, that display holo images or recordings.[1]

Description

Holo-Projectors are cased in brass and surrounded by chrome-sheathed cables and hissing steam, constructed and maintained by some of the most ancient and sacred rituals. Projectors are most often found in briefing rooms where they can be linked to a cogitator or another data feed. From this data input a cone-shaped, blue-tinged image is projected by the device.[2]

Another way of image projection is through the use of an inserted Data-Crystal, which the Projectors cause to spin and then send a beam of light into. Doing so causes the images or recordings the Crystal contains to be displayed and any nearby lights may need to be dimmed, for the Projectors to show a more clearer image.[1]

Hololithic Projectors can also be found on the bridges of starships, visually representing the data collected by the spaceship's sensor array. Shaded in laser blue, the resulting tri-d image can be of a star system, with each planet individually displayed,[3a] or of a hostile armada, with identified enemy ships having their armament and manoeuvring capabilities displayed beneath their tri-d simulacra. The capabilities of unknown spaceship are also displayed, estimated based upon mass, power signature and similarities to known vessels.[3b]
