Raven Fighter
The Raven Fighter is a Dark Eldar Strike Fighter.[1] It is armed with two Dark Lances and one long-barrelled Splinter Cannon.[2]
Description
The Raven Fighter is the oldest and smallest aircraft fielded by the Dark Eldar, designed to deal with ground targets instead of other aircrafts. Considered somewhat vulgar by many, in contrast to other, more elegant and precise Dark Eldar aircrafts, it has fallen out of favour with many Kabals. Only the most bloodthirsty Reavers prefer to use the Raven, appreciating its brutal weaponry and its lack of missile armament.[1]
Some Dark Eldar raiding forces have noticed the extreme vulnerability of their light-weight transport skimmers, the Raiders. Therefore they have utilised Raven Fighters to support advancing Raiders by destroying tanks with their dark lances. After all tanks which might interrupt advancing of Raiders are destroyed, Raven Fighters start to use their splinter cannons to pound enemy infantry positions.[1]
A Raven can also be equipped with Flickerfields or Night Shields.[5] Ravens are sometimes fielded in squadrons, each containing at least three fighters, known as Raven Murder Squadrons.[4]
