12th Chapter, Ultramarines Legion

The 12th Chapter of the Ultramarines Legion[1a] was called the Desert Lions,[2] and was known to have been active during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[1a]
Known Actions
- Battle of Calth: At full strength by the start of the Battle of Calth, the 12th Chapter was deployed alongside most of the legion at Numinus City.[1a] The Chapter suffered massive losses at the battle's start, and retreated alongside the 11th Chapter into the forests of Sharud Province. There, they fought a masterful hit-and-run campaign against the Word Bearers, Dark Mechanicum Taghmata, and Legio Suturvora.[1b] The 12th Chapter also battled the Word Bearers and the allied 199th Thorion Yeomanry at Sylator Province, saving the region despite being greatly outnumbered.[1c]
