3686th Expedition Fleet
The 3686th Expedition Fleet was a Great Crusade Expedition Fleet.[1]
History
Its flagship was the Lux Majestas and the 3686th was primarily composed of a White Scars pioneer company and Cohorts of the Imperial Army's Solar Auxilia. The Fleet is known to have successfully destroyed the W'ral Ath Xenos Empire, during the latter years of the Great Crusade, but the Imperium lost contact with the 3686th afterwards. It was assumed to have been lost, but the Fleet later exited the Warp into the region beyond the Ghoul Stars in 012.M31, during the Horus Heresy.[1]
After doing so, its forces immediately began intercepting distress signals from numerous locations within the Ultima Segmentum. The 3686th decided to investigate these signals and after arriving at the nearest one, the Fleet encountered the forces of the Alpha Legion. Several of its Legionaries were then interrogated aboard the Lux Majestas, where they informed the shocked Fleet of Warmaster Horus' betrayal of the Imperium. After detailing what had occurred so far in the civil war, the Alpha Legion Legionaries then assured the 3686th's commander, that while their Legion served Horus, they were loyal to the Emperor. The commander believed them and afterwards the Fleet travelled to a system within the Alaxxes Nebula, which the Legionaries stated was a mustering point for the Imperium's forces.[1]
