The 97th Elysian Drop Troops Regiment is an Elysian Drop Troopers regiment who aided a beleaguered Moebian tank regiment surrounded by xenos on a distant world. The regiment deploys via grav-chute insertion to strike with pinpoint accuracy and attack otherwise unreachable positions.[2]

Uniform

  • Elysian Veterans: Elysian Veterans wore the standard issue Type 5 Pressure Helmet, reinforced frontal armour and large flash visor give these a helmet a distinct look and gives extra protection and function comes at the cost of comfort. For fatigues and armour, they wore the MK V PT-38 Jump Suit which comes with the unique 68 Pattern webbing which allows troopers to carry extra equipment into the field. It is useful when they don't have support vehicles rolling in behind them. For trousers they wore the MK V PT-38 Jump Suit as standard issue for the troopers, it is not uncommon for veteran troops to ditch their kneepads upon landing for added mobility.[1a]
  • Elysian Zealots: Elysian Zealots wore the Penitent's Type 5 Pressure Helmet as standard issue. For fatigues and armour, they wore the MK II PT-38 Jump Suit that comes with a prayer book as standard issue. For trousers they wore the MK II PT-38 Jump Suit, a rugged synthi-canvas material provides a modicum of protection from the buffeting winds of free fall.[1b]
  • Elysian Psykers: Elysian Psykers wore the Seer's Pressure Helmet with Psykana Collar as standard issue helmets, modified helmets sacrificing weight for security and better warp sensitivity provided by the use of rare alloys in its construction. For fatigues and armour, they wore MK VI PT-38 Jump Suit with specialised synth-plast psykana collar fitting is integrated into the armour plates on the suit. The Munitorum adept assures that the reduce weight will in no way compromise the efficacy of the dollar. For Trousers, they wore the MK VI PT-38 Jump Suit that contains special thermal layer to help protect against sub-zero temperatures.[1c]
  • Elysian Ogryns: Elysian Ogryns wore the Type 5 Pressure Helmet (XXXXL) helmet which is the standard-issue plasteel helmet just bigger, much bigger. For fatigues and armour, they wore MK X PT-38 Jump Suit (XXXXL) as standard issue. The Synth-Plast armour plates are lightweight but not the wearer. For trousers, they wore the MK X PT-38 Jump Suit (XXXXL) as standard issue that cost a sheer amount of material required to fill quilted padding on this uniform but no one can deny the efficacy of an Ogryn dropping into a midst of combat.[1d]

Equipment

  • Droop-Trooper's Combat Knife: The slim design of the weapon makes it ideal for sliding into a boot as the Trooper prepare to drop.[1h]
  • Accatran Pattern MKIV Lasgun (Betalis Night): Standard armament for all Elysian Drop Troopers. The dark colouring is named in honour of the regiments lost during the bewildering Betalis Campaign against an Aeldar menace.[1e]
  • Grenadier Gauntlet (Betalis Black): used by Ogryns in the 97th Elysian Drop Troops with the barrel having a special decoration.[1g]
  • Heavy Laspistol (Betalis Night): Used by Elysian Officers strapped into their 68 pattern webbing.[1f]
