Adivarius
Adivarius was a Raven Guard Captain, who led his Chapter's strike force that was sent to destroy an Ork Waaagh! in M41.[1]
Astra Militarum regiments were also taking part in the battle and wrongly claimed the victory was theirs once the Orks were defeated. The regiments had been unaware, however, that Adivarius had secretly deployed a Raven Guard Company behind the Orks' battle-lines. Though the regiments did not see the Raven Guard fighting the Orks, this Company was ultimately responsible for the Waaagh!'s downfall. The Raven Guard did not reveal this, however, until after Lord Commissar Oleg van Mises sent a light-hearted communique to Adivarius, celebrating that his Guardsmen had won without the strike force's aid. Once the Raven Guard contacted the Militarum with the truth of their part in the battle, though, Mises and his forces were stripped of the medals they had been given. The Lord Commissar was then executed for besmirching the honour of the Raven Guard.[1]
