Adraharsis[1a]

Adraharsis was a zealous member of the Word Bearers Traitor Legion, who took part in the Horus Heresy and The Scouring.[1]

History

A Dark Apostle of the Ebon Claw Chapter, he took part in the Siege of Terra and was a staunch believer in the cause of Chaos. Upon the death of Horus and the flight of the Traitors from Terra, he and a small group of Word Bearers and other Traitor Astartes barely escaped in a badly damaged Corvette. They powered down their ship (at the cost of the lives of their mortal crew) to avoid detection by Ultramarines sweeper fleets, slowly gliding through the Sol System with little chance of survival. Along the way, they rescued the Iron Warriors Warsmith Ortag Theokon from a damaged gunship.[1b]

Distraught from the withdrawal of warp energies from Sol, he desperately sought guidance on what to do next. He received a cryptic psychic message which urged him not to run, which he interpreted as an order to resume the fight.[1c] Using his sorcerous abilities, the group was able to locate a concealed Word Bearers outpost on Neptune's moon of Laomedeia.[1d] There, they discovered that the Word Bearers under Dark Apostle Khal-Hanam were building a device dubbed the "Great Work" which would reignite the power of the Warp in the Sol System and allow them to restart the war.[1e]

However Ortag Theokon saw the mission as foolhardy, and was able to initiate contact with the Iron Blood and bring Perturabo to the world. Perturabo mocked the Word Bearers mission and stated their plan was a threat to his grander plan. Perturabo led a purging of the Word Bearers and stripped the moon of all of its remaining resources and personnel before moving on. Adraharsis was among those killed.[1f]
