Aeternus
The Aeternus is the most venerable Battle Barge in the Ultramarines Chapter's fleet.[1]
History
It was among the Ultramarines' forces that defended the Cadian Subsector, during the 13th Black Crusade.[2] As the Crusade raged, the Imperium later learned that Abaddon the Despoiler's Blackstone Fortress, Will of Eternity, was going to destroy Cadia's Kasr Partox, where Lord Castellan Ursarkar E. Creed was located. The comms in the Kasr were down and so someone would need to physically warn Creed so that he could escape before the Will of Eternity began its attack. This fell to the Chapter Ancient Octavian, whose Honour Guard squadron deployed from the Aeternus[2a] and later successfully warned the Lord Castellan. They were then evacuated back to the Battle Barge afterwards.[2b]
