Alevan Town is a settlement at the border of Hive Primus and the Underhive of Necromunda risen between abandoned Hive structures. It was originally populated and ruled by underhive rules. Unlike Dust Falls, it had no strategic position, thus it grew slowly, but steadily. Its position was exploited either for reaching the underhive or Hive City.[1]

Its name is purported to come from Aleax Van Saar, a prominent noble of House Van Saar[1], though this may very well be propaganda to justify the House's encroaching on this otherwise officially unexploited territory.

The Turn Over

The turning point for the town's history was Abaddon's 13th Black Crusade leading to conscription from the hive, as well as demand for manufacturing, which in turn increased the numbers of jobs available uphive; this resulted in the town seeing for the first time in its history more upward than downward movement, as well as parts of its residence leaving for better lives uphive.[1]

At the same time though, the Crusade also forced House Van Saar to expand and Guilders found this place suitable. They slowly infiltrated, hiring gangs to clear out other gangs and residents in order to (re)build Manufactorums. As the Guild and House Van Saar expanded, so did they brought their rules. Enforcers have reached the number of hired gangs, which the Guilders hope to reduce as the influx of Enforcers continues. Half of the settlement's gambling dens have been shut down and pit fighting has been outlawed.[1]

Though the tide is turning against the gangs and the original inhabitants who are being driven out, the town is still lucrative. The imported hive workers bring with them trade and opportunities of smuggling. Disillusioned juves who see their families' meager possessions destroyed and driven out join gangs in order to take their revenge on the Guilders.[1]
