Amistel is an Imperium world which raises the Amistel Imperial Guard Regiments, including the Amistel 24th Cavalry Regiment.[1]
In 977.M41 the world was invaded by Bluehacker Orks. The 8th Cadian, 219th Albitern Grenadiers, and an unnamed Attilan regiment were dispatched to defend the world. Colonel Sackville Slade of the Albiterns developed a large rivalry with then-General Ursarkar E. Creed. Creed's exploits gained him the trust of the Attilans and the High Command, led by Field Marshall Kassel. After the defeat of the orks, due to Creed's tactics, Colonel Slade decided to "teach Creed a lesson". He was however arrested, alongside twenty co-conspirators, and transferred to a penal unit.[6]
During the 13th Black Crusade, the world (presumably Amistel Majoris) was invaded by Plague Marines, and only with the arrival of the Drookian Fen Guard, Howling Griffons and Legio Astorum did the tide begin to turn.[2][3] However, vessels of the Death Guard later appeared in Amistel's orbit and unleashed a viral contagion onto the world, more virulent than anything the Apothecaries had seen before. Its atmosphere is now so toxic that even Space Marines are unable to remain within it for long[4], and the fighting between the Imperium and the forces of Chaos has now devolved into vicious trench warfare as the world falls into a state of anarchy.[2][3]
