Amulet of Warding

Often fashioned into the familiar cog and skull symbol of the Adeptus Mechanicus, the Amulets of Warding are rare, fist-sized amulets that contain powerful refractor field generators capable of warding off the fiercest blows and most violent assaults. They may exceptionally be shaped into customized forms, when offered as gifts or to seal deals of great import.[1]
The fields of these devices can overload and will then temporarily shut down. They also distort the air around the user, occasionally surrounding them with audible and visible static discharges, and will burn out after an hour—in which case it takes two hours to recharge.[1]
