Anhur Hekras was the Captain of the Sons of Horus' 68th Company, during the Horus Heresy. He also bore the title of Custodian of the Vaults and was his Legion's Master of Legacy.[1]

History

During the Battle of Trisolian, Hekras was stationed aboard the Vengeful Spirit when it was invaded by the Space Wolves and their Primarch Leman Russ. While the Captain, was originally among the Sons of Horus that protected the Warmaster, Hekras went to defend the Vengeful Spirit's vaults when they came under attack. It was his duty to watch over the Legion's relics that were stored within the vaults and charged when he saw they were ablaze. The culprit was revealed to be the Thegn Geigor Fell-Hand, whose Space Wolves were still destroying the Sons of Horus' relics. Not wanting to risk damaging the vaults contents, Hekras was forced to order his forces to engage their foes in melee combat. The Space Wolves had no such restraints and Fell-Hand gave the order to fire, as the Sons of Horus advanced.[1]

While a number of the Sons of Horus were slain, they quickly clashed with the Space Wolves and their superior numbers turned the tide. Soon the Space Wolves found themselves suffering a large number of deaths, which infuriated Fell-Hand. Though the Thegn knew he risked the destruction of his forces, Fell-Hand became intent on killing Hekras for the losses they suffered and charged towards the Captain's position. He would nearly reach Hekras, when disaster struck and the Thegn was informed that Leman Russ' attempt to kill Horus had failed. Worse still, the Primarch was left severally wounded by his Brother and the Space Wolves were now being given the order to retreat from the Vengeful Spirit. This immediately cooled Fell-Hand's fury and he quickly gave the order to his forces. Hekras and his Sons of Horus, however, would make the Space Wolves pay for their retreat and only a score of Fell-Hand's forces managed to escape from the vaults.[1]
