Archeohort
The Archeohort is a type of spaceship used by the Adeptus Mechanicus.[1] One was used by Magos Zellik[2a] before being surrendered to Blood Angel control.[2b] It was subsequently destroyed over Dynikas V.[2d]
Description
The Archeohort is used as mobile salvage facility and research platform, primarily searching and recovering technologies from the Dark Age of Technology,[1] The vessel, massing as large as a city-sprawl, has an egg-shaped core surrounded by a collection of kilometre-long derricks.[2a]
The Archeohort is equipped with a factorium, a Teleportarium-scrambling dispersal field generator and etheric sensors. It is armed with gun pods the size of hab blocks on the outer hull, which move on thick rails, stopping at ammo hoppers to reload before returning to their firing positions. The Archeohort also has giant harpoons, with double and tripple-threaded chains, used to reel ships in. Its armour consists of mobile armour plates, which reposition themselves to absorb incoming fire.[2a]
The inside of the Archeohort constantly reconfiguring, consisting of corridors defying gravity, some of which loop on themselves. At the centre of the vessel, decks as large as city blocks constantly move on rails and pulleys, which produces a constant screeching metallic noise.[2a] Its bridge is a series of square terraces, resembling a pyramid turned inside out. Each of the terraces is fitted with complex consoles, some with a rail system, allowing tech-priests with rolled feet to move around.[2c] An enclosed highway for pneu-cars is situated in the outer parts of the ship.[2b]
