The Archite Palatines were Imperial Army[1a][4] and Solar Auxilia Regiments that were drawn from the Noble Houses of Europa on Terra.[1b][2] They served the Emperor's Children Legion during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[2][4]

History

Archite Palatines symbol[3]

Though the first Archite Palatines units served with several Space Marine Legions in the decades after their founding, the cultural ties they shared with the III Legion saw them stand closer to the Emperor's Children than any other. After Fulgrim's rediscovery, they were immediately declared wards of his Legion.[5]

During the Great Crusade a Regiment of the Palatines was attached to the 28th Expedition Fleet under the overall command of the Primarch Fulgrim. It mostly drawn mostly from Europa's noble military households.[1b] The Regiment later rebelled along with the Emperor's Children in the Isstvan system.[1c]

Appearance & Uniform

Archite Palatine[2]

The standard Palatines' uniform was a red tunic and silver cuirass, that bore the Aquila.[1b]

The Solar Auxilia's armour was silver and red. The latter colour was a reference to the grapes that were grown in the Europa clans' hermetically sealed agri-domes. The Palatines' vehicles meanwhile were silver and marked with bands of red. Any iconography the vehicles bore were rendered in off-white.[2]

Regimental History & Battle Honours

The regiment fought with several Legions before the Emperor's Children.[1b]
