Aton Marner
Aton Marner was a Rogue Trader and a scion of House Marner, who was active in the Koronus Expanse in mid-M41.[1a]
History
He came into conflict with the Rogue Trader Cassius Sult in 520.M41, in what became known as the Battle of Embers. It began over the exploitation of a mineral-rich asteroid belt near Falcon's Fall Gamma, and caused a blood feud between their Houses.[1a]
The feud between House Marner and House Sult still rages to this day.[1a] Aton's part in the conflict, however, ended in 577.M41 after Hyperia Sult's warship launched a daring ambush that killed Aton aboard his own warship's bridge. His death not only worsened the blood feud, but also sparked a succession crisis in House Marner. This was ultimately resolved when the House's Warrant of Trade was passed to Anton's granddaughter, Cara.[1b]
