Avalonia Sub-Sector
The Avalonia Sub-Sector is a Subsector of Imperial space, located in the Imperium Nihilus.[1]
History
In the Age of the Dark Imperium, a number of Imperial worlds across Avalonia rebelled against Imperial rule. These worlds cut themselves off from the greater galaxy, their peoples having embraced a spreading heretical faith that preached strength through isolationism, claiming that the wider Imperium was tainted. Once isolated, however, these worlds soon fell to the Word Bearers - the Chaos Space Marines having created the divergent faith themselves.[1]
In response to this, Inquisitor Fyodor Karamazov led a Crusade into the Avalonia Sub-Sector, despite the risk to his Navigators and Astropaths. Karamazov has vowed to purge the subsector of heretics - both the Word Bearers themselves and any mortal foolish enough to have followed them into damnation.[1]
