Azurine Conflict
The Azurine Conflict was a battle that occurred in 010-012.M31 during the Horus Heresy, when elements of the Alpha Legion invaded the system of Orcana.[1]
History
The battle began when forces of the Alpha Legion besieged the promethium-rich system of Orcana which was protected by a White Scars garrison at the time. Several of its planets had a surface that was entirely ocean due to terraforming operations carried out by an extinct aquatic xenos species known as the Laraviria. Due to the planets' condition, the resulting conflict was largely fought by seaborne aircraft carriers, with squadrons launching assaults on enemy-held promethium rigs. As the conflict dragged on it became less profitable for the traitors to continue the campaign, ultimately deciding to withdraw to support the final advance on Terra and leaving Ocarna in the hands of the White Scars.[1]
