Bael tree

Baels are a type of tree native to the world of Chevreuse. They grow moving thorny rope-like appendages which the tree uses to catch prey. The local people would cover themselves with the yellow ichor[1a] of the Bael trees.[1c] The flailing whips of the trees shy away from the people wearing the ichor, protecting them from the thorny lashes of the Bael trees.[1b]
