Baryk Carya[2]

Baryk Carya was a shipmaster of the Imperial Armada during the Great Crusade and early Horus Heresy.[1]

Overview

Covered in bionics from a Plasma Gun malfunction, Carya had worked for years to become an officer on an Astartes ship. Commanding the Frigate Eisenstein, Carya became swept up in the early stages of the Horus Heresy when his ship became the only loyalist craft to escape the Battle of Isstvan III. When loyalist leader Nathaniel Garro took command of his vessel and attempted to escape to warn Terra, Carya was shocked but determined to carry out his duty. Carya proved calm and invaluable during the Eistenstein's harrowing journey through the Warp, keeping discipline and command as the ship was beset by Daemons. He survived the trip to the Somnus Citadel and it was suggested by the Imperial Fists that he may be used to train their own ship crews in the future.[1]
