The Battle of Alfava Metraxis was a battle fought by the Black Templars and Imperial Fists Chapters against a xenos horde.^[1]

At some point during the battle, an Imperial Fists Sergeant sacrificed himself to save the life of Chaplain Grimaldus of the Black Templars. Grimaldus took the Sergeant's plasma pistol and would go on to kill the xenos chieftain and win the war for the Imperium. Grimaldus continues to wield the pistol to honour the sacrifice of the Sergeant.^[1]

• Many of the details given in the insert in Armageddon are references to the long-running British science fiction television show Doctor Who. In this case, Alfava Metraxis is a planet featured in the 2010 episodes The Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone.
