Battle of the Vesmir System
The Battle of the Vesmir System was a battle fought by the Imperium.
Amid the formation of the Great Rift, Sisters of Battle from the Order of the Valorous Heart established a bastion in the Vesmir System. Nearly Imperial forces flocked to the fortified sanctuary in the orbital Hive city above Vesmir II. There, they pooled what strength they had to combat the incursions by Daemons and Chaos Space Marines. Elevator mineshafts plunging down to the planet's surface provide a steady flow of raw materials, while the hive's factories work overtime to ensure the Sisters and Imperial Guard troops in the city are well-stocked. They successfully defended against two Chaos assaults, but as the enemy prepared for a third stage the mineshafts suddenly ceased functioning. It was revealed that Necrons had awoken beneath Vesmir II. The Sisters under Jocindyr issued a standing order to defend the Hive before departing to draw the Chaos and Necron forces into destroying one another.[1]
